Under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences of South Africa, the IAP Water Programme Regional Workshop for Africa counted assembled specialists from 7 African countries (South Africa, Cameroon, Kenya, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda e Zambia). During three days, an intense exchange of information and experiences about the state-of-the-art of management and research in the field of water resources in the African continent took place.

Among the discussed subjects were: Management of water resources in Africa; articulation between research and management in order to upgrade services; development of local capacity building and funding; the importance of innovation for the water resources management in Africa; and the articulation and actions for the IAP Water Programme in Africa.
